Every guide is grounded in published cost data, government program rules, and caregiver-facing best practices rather than personal opinion.

    Tools & Methodology Reviewers

    Calculator formulas and clinical reference ranges

    Before any calculator or screening tool goes live, a reviewer checks the underlying formula, unit conversions, and reference ranges against the published source it came from (for example CDC growth and BMI definitions, ACC/AHA blood pressure categories, ADA A1C conversion, and the Friedewald LDL equation). Each tool page states the formula it uses so you can verify the math yourself.

    Our local contributors compile city-level context for Southern California home care: typical hourly rates, county and regional aging services, and the practical logistics of arranging care in the San Fernando Valley, Conejo Valley, and Ventura County.

    Accessibility & Plain-Language Review

    Readability, structure, and usability

    A final pass checks that content reads in plain English at a level a stressed family member can follow, that tools work with a keyboard and screen reader, and that results are explained in context instead of leaving you with a bare number.

    How we credit authorship

    Articles are published under the byline "HomeCareHub Editorial Team" because most pages are the product of several contributors: a writer, a methodology reviewer, and a plain-language editor. Every article shows the date it was first published and the date it was last meaningfully updated, so you can judge how current the information is.
